Landing Flaps Drive System

Actuator

In the actuator acts a worm gear for the additional increase in torque. The conversion from rotational motion to linear motion is made by a ball screw spindle.

On top of the actuator housing is a spherical journal bearing which enables the actuator to swivel laterally (caused by the trapezoidal motion of the flap panel) without bending.
